He’s a member of the Transformational Leadership Council, winner of the 2019 Unity New Thought Wilding Award and the author of the book The Magic of Surrender.

00:01:55:23 – 00:02:09:06

Nathan Crane

His mission is to awaken and inspire people across the planet to access inner freedom, live authentically and fulfill their true life’s purpose. Whoo! Brother, thank you so much for joining me here on the podcast, man.

00:02:10:06 – 00:02:10:23

Kute Blackson

Thanks for having me.

00:02:12:11 – 00:02:33:03

Nathan Crane

So I got to tell a story. The first time I met you, I was I was in L.A. This is when I was living in San Diego. And I You must have been doing some crazy good promo or something for for an event that you were doing, because I don’t even. I just. I saw this event you were doing.

00:02:33:03 – 00:02:39:08

Nathan Crane

I think it was like a I can’t remember what it was called love fest or something. It’s like 12 years ago.

00:02:39:24 – 00:02:42:02

Kute Blackson

Yeah. Two oh 2013 and.

00:02:42:02 – 00:02:43:06

Kute Blackson

14 I think in medicine.

00:02:43:18 – 00:03:05:20

Nathan Crane

23 Yeah. Probably would’ve been. Yeah. At least ten, ten, ten plus years ago. Yeah. And it was I just saw this thing, I was like I grabbed my wife, I was like, we got to go to this. This just looks amazing, right? And it was just like music and dance and kind of workshop and like, kind of primal energy, breath work and all this stuff.

00:03:05:20 – 00:03:25:06

Nathan Crane

And we show up and it’s like, you guys, like, took over this big ass club in L.A., right? Like, the whole thing. Avalon It was like a conscious, sober, epic, spiritual party in this club in L.A. and it was like it was one of the most epic things that I experienced in that environment.

00:03:25:06 – 00:03:26:06

Kute Blackson

US That was nice.

00:03:26:06 – 00:03:27:20

Kute Blackson

We had about 3000 people there.

00:03:28:01 – 00:03:28:15

Nathan Crane

Yeah, it was.

00:03:28:20 – 00:03:30:05

Kute Blackson

It was pretty epic. Yeah.

00:03:30:13 – 00:03:51:09

Nathan Crane

Yeah, yeah. So I saw you on stage and like, you just had this electric energy, man. Just this really just this, this authority, you know, where it was like this guy is speaking authentically. He’s really coming from a place of of his heart. And like, you just had this this power and the strength and this confidence about you.

00:03:51:18 – 00:04:08:04

Nathan Crane

And I thought, man, it’s just it’s amazing. Like, that was the first time I ever heard of you, ever saw you, any of that. And I went there. I was just like I was like, This cute guy is amazing, man. And so I’ve just, you know, I’ve kind of followed your work over the years and have been in touch.

00:04:08:04 – 00:04:26:12

Nathan Crane

We’ve done, you know, another interview a couple of years ago for my for my documentary series, which was amazing. And, you know, you told the story of of being with your mother. Maybe we’ll get into that because I was like a really deep, touching story. But yeah, I just want want people, you know, here on the podcast to get to know you a little bit.

00:04:26:12 – 00:04:51:09

Nathan Crane

And, you know, just my experience, like I said, the first experience I had was like, you are truly living an authentic and fulfilling life, at least from what it seems. And I want to know, like what point in your life did you kind of figure out your own life’s purpose? Like, when was that for you and what was that like awakening moment?

00:04:51:09 – 00:04:54:09

Nathan Crane

Like, this is my life’s purpose. This is what what I’m here to do.

00:04:55:16 – 00:05:09:10

Kute Blackson

You know, I forgot what we spoke about on that day, the interview. But I don’t know if it was like one specific moment. My entire life I’ve always.

00:05:09:10 – 00:05:10:03

Kute Blackson

Felt.

00:05:11:02 – 00:05:11:22

Kute Blackson

A calling.

00:05:12:09 – 00:05:14:15

Kute Blackson

To serve people.

00:05:14:24 – 00:05:17:18

Kute Blackson

There’s been this innate feeling from a very.

00:05:17:18 – 00:05:21:00

Kute Blackson

Young age that my life is not really my life.

00:05:21:14 – 00:05:23:07

Kute Blackson

There’s always been this sense.

00:05:23:07 – 00:05:25:14

Kute Blackson

That I wanted to.

00:05:25:14 – 00:05:26:09

Kute Blackson

Inspire.

00:05:26:10 – 00:05:28:23

Kute Blackson

Help, empower people in some way.

00:05:29:15 – 00:05:34:20

Kute Blackson

I for me, six, eight, seven, eight, you know, this this deep desire to.

00:05:35:23 – 00:05:36:15

Kute Blackson

To help.

00:05:36:18 – 00:05:46:16

Kute Blackson

In some way. I mean, I was a very sensitive kid, very empathetic. And so I would feel people’s pain very deeply. And there was a part of me that always wanted to alleviate.

00:05:46:16 – 00:05:47:22

Kute Blackson

Suffering in some way.

00:05:48:06 – 00:06:09:06

Kute Blackson

I just didn’t know as a67 year old how to do that. And so that deep desire was there. And look, just just for a bit of background, like my first memories as a kid was seeing a crippled woman crawling on the floor as she picks up the sand that this man walks on, wipes it on her face.

00:06:09:14 – 00:06:10:08

Kute Blackson

And stands up.

00:06:11:02 – 00:06:26:07

Kute Blackson

And so I grew up around miracles, you know, blind people seeing deaf people hearing the same man would look at a woman in a wheelchair and say, What? Why even this wheelchair? You’re not sick. Stand up. And he would touch them and they would they would stand up or somebody would come in with crutches and they would say, Throw your crutches away.

00:06:26:07 – 00:06:48:18

Kute Blackson

You’re not sick. And they would start walking after not having walked in ten years. And so this man was my father. He built maybe 300 churches in Ghana, West Africa, hundreds of thousands of followers. At his height, he had a huge church in London, about 5000 people every Sunday. And so I grew up in this, I don’t know, spiritual, sacred, mystical, kind of environment.

00:06:48:18 – 00:06:56:04

Kute Blackson

I was not very close to my father. It’s not like he mentored me, but I grew up observing. And so there was always this sense of possibility.

00:06:56:04 – 00:06:58:22

Kute Blackson

And for me.

00:06:58:22 – 00:07:02:10

Kute Blackson

My life was basically scripted out for me. I was.

00:07:02:22 – 00:07:03:01

Kute Blackson

I.

00:07:03:01 – 00:07:17:09

Kute Blackson

Started speaking in my father’s churches when I was age eight. I was ordained as a minister when I was 14, and I was supposed to basically take over my father’s spiritual organization. And I was the guy who was going to take it to the next level. But I knew what I didn’t.

00:07:17:09 – 00:07:17:18

Kute Blackson

Know.

00:07:18:20 – 00:07:26:01

Kute Blackson

Was the strange feeling inside of me that this was not my path, this was not my purpose to take over my father’s.

00:07:26:01 – 00:07:27:04

Kute Blackson

Church.

00:07:27:04 – 00:07:39:20

Kute Blackson

To do it through this organization. I just had this knowing I didn’t know what my purpose was, but I had it knowing that this was not it. And so when I turned 18, I had some decisions to.

00:07:39:20 – 00:07:40:04

Kute Blackson

Make.

00:07:40:08 – 00:07:53:11

Kute Blackson

Even though I still didn’t know exactly what my purpose was. I began reading self-help books, spiritual books, personal growth books from a very young age. I remember at age nine sneak into my father’s office.

00:07:53:21 – 00:07:54:09

Kute Blackson

And.

00:07:54:09 – 00:08:21:00

Kute Blackson

He had literally a thousand spiritual, esoteric, Eastern mystics, western mystic, kind of Krishnamurti Osho Ramana maharishi to good, yes to to spend psyche Western mystics to Teela. They shut down to one diet, to Marianne Williamson, to Deepak Chopra, to Tony Robbins. He had all of these books on his bookshelf. So as a kid, I, I’d started devouring these books in a quest to try.

00:08:21:00 – 00:08:23:07

Kute Blackson

And understand life.

00:08:23:20 – 00:08:38:03

Kute Blackson

And I was a very inquisitive kid. So I wanted to understand, like, what is the nature of life? Who am I? Where do I come from? Where do we go? What is the purpose? Why? Why are we here? Why do we incarnate? I look around and as a kid I would see people. I got a scholarship to a very prestigious school.

00:08:38:06 – 00:08:39:05

Kute Blackson

We didn’t have a lot of money.

00:08:39:05 – 00:08:54:24

Kute Blackson

So all of the kids in this school, their parents were like presidents and mayors and CEOs and gazillionaires, and they had every reason to be happy. But many of them were miserable. And then I go back to my father’s church.

00:08:55:07 – 00:08:56:07

Kute Blackson

And there.

00:08:56:07 – 00:08:59:21

Kute Blackson

Was a lot of folks that weren’t very educated and didn’t have very much.

00:08:59:21 – 00:09:00:06

Kute Blackson

In.

00:09:00:06 – 00:09:17:16

Kute Blackson

And every reason to be miserable. But they seemed fulfilled at peace and happy. So began asking myself the question like, what the what the hell is the purpose of life? Is it just to wake up, go to work, meet babies, get a job, get a house, 2.4 kids, and then just die? Like what? Why are we here? Why am I.

00:09:17:16 – 00:09:18:03

Kute Blackson

Here?

00:09:18:12 – 00:09:21:24

Kute Blackson

And so this became a real drive for me in my teens.

00:09:22:02 – 00:09:23:13

Kute Blackson

And to just.

00:09:23:16 – 00:09:28:21

Kute Blackson

Try to find my purpose. And so when I turned 18, I had to.

00:09:28:21 – 00:09:29:16

Kute Blackson

Acknowledge.

00:09:31:17 – 00:09:54:20

Kute Blackson

That I needed to make some decisions, and I had to acknowledge that the purpose and the life that was basically scripted out for me as I looked into my future, I saw that I could I could take over my father’s, you know, operation organization and be successful. And I projected into the future ten years, 20 years, 30 years, age 68, 60.

00:09:54:20 – 00:10:06:11

Kute Blackson

But I projected and I saw that if I didn’t have myself, if I didn’t have my integrity, if I didn’t have my soul, if I didn’t have my own truth, what kind of success is that?

00:10:06:11 – 00:10:06:24

Kute Blackson

You know?

00:10:07:00 – 00:10:30:01

Kute Blackson

And if I start lying to myself now, I’m going to have to live this life basically for the rest of my life. And the pain of that hit me. And so I knew that I had to make a different decision, and that was to to leave everything behind in search, in search of the very reason for my life and existence.

00:10:30:01 – 00:11:03:09

Kute Blackson

And why I’m here. And so I felt a calling in my soul to come to America. And partly I think maybe this is where a glimmer of my purpose began to reveal itself was when I read self-help books. Brian Tracy. Zig Ziglar, Jack Kemp, Tony Robbins Chopra, Marianne Williamson, Luis. They they were teaching these things called seminars right in the US, most of them in California, in San Diego, in Los Angeles and San Francisco, like California, seemed like the Mecca.

00:11:03:09 – 00:11:06:03

Kute Blackson

And they were teaching. And when I went, I.

00:11:06:03 – 00:11:09:21

Kute Blackson

Understood like, wow, there’s this thing called seminars and people are teaching in these hotel.

00:11:09:21 – 00:11:12:19

Kute Blackson

Rooms and seminars. A light bulb went off to me.

00:11:12:19 – 00:11:13:11

Kute Blackson

And I thought.

00:11:14:04 – 00:11:17:16

Kute Blackson

This is what I’m here to do. And I had these visions of.

00:11:17:16 – 00:11:19:22

Kute Blackson

Writing and speaking as a.

00:11:19:22 – 00:11:30:06

Kute Blackson

16, 17 year old kid. And that’s what really lit me on fire. I would basically when I caught the vision, I would basically.

00:11:30:10 – 00:11:32:13

Kute Blackson

We lived behind my father’s church.

00:11:32:24 – 00:11:35:04

Kute Blackson

And I would sneak into my father’s church in the.

00:11:35:04 – 00:11:51:06

Kute Blackson

Middle of the night, you know, 10:11 p.m.. And so years every day I would in the darkness, in the pitch black of this empty church, I would give seminars to imaginary thousands of people.

00:11:51:13 – 00:11:52:21

Kute Blackson

Imagining I was.

00:11:52:21 – 00:11:55:19

Kute Blackson

Inspiring and imagining souls lighting up.

00:11:55:19 – 00:12:00:12

Kute Blackson

And imagining people being transformed and then imagining I was living my purpose. And so there was a sense of.

00:12:01:07 – 00:12:03:18

Kute Blackson

I want to I want to do this personal growth.

00:12:03:21 – 00:12:05:01

Kute Blackson

Personal development thing.

00:12:05:01 – 00:12:05:15

Kute Blackson

And like.

00:12:06:03 – 00:12:07:24

Kute Blackson

This is what I’m here to do. And so.

00:12:09:00 – 00:12:09:08

Kute Blackson

Yeah.

00:12:09:24 – 00:12:39:22

Kute Blackson

It wasn’t easy because sometimes people have the sense that when you find your purpose, life unfolds effortlessly. When you find your purpose, it’s like the unicorns appear, the violins appear, everything unfolds. I think sometimes when you find your true purpose, shit hits the fan or help breaks loose, and that’s when the real challenges and difficulties begin. But the thing is, many times when you find a purpose and the difficulties and the challenge challenges hits many of us, we think were on the wrong path.

00:12:39:22 – 00:13:05:10

Kute Blackson

We turn back, we give up on realizing that those challenges are actually the same one. The right path. Those challenges are simply the the soul tests and the preparation that we need to go through in order to grow, in order to evolve, in order to develop the mental, the spiritual, the emotional muscle, the soul force to be able to fulfill the vision and the purpose that we’ve been given.

00:13:05:10 – 00:13:08:23

Kute Blackson

So that led me to having a conversation with my father.

00:13:08:23 – 00:13:09:22

Kute Blackson

Which was terrifying.

00:13:11:15 – 00:13:13:08

Kute Blackson

Telling my father I’m not taking over.

00:13:13:15 – 00:13:16:18

Kute Blackson

And then my father may not speaking for two years.

00:13:16:18 – 00:13:23:06

Kute Blackson

If not more, 2 to 3 years, and not having the conversation, which was devastating as a kid. And that led me to coming to the US.

00:13:23:10 – 00:13:28:21

Kute Blackson

A long story short, I want a green card in the lottery, which enabled me to come to the U.S. and find.

00:13:28:21 – 00:13:31:00

Kute Blackson

Many of these people, your Mariam and.

00:13:31:00 – 00:13:32:03

Kute Blackson

Deepak, a lot.

00:13:32:03 – 00:13:32:16

Kute Blackson

Of these people.

00:13:32:16 – 00:13:33:17

Kute Blackson

And learn from some of them.

00:13:33:17 – 00:13:38:12

Kute Blackson

Studied with some of them. And so for me, there’s always been this guiding sense that my purpose.

00:13:38:12 – 00:13:42:02

Kute Blackson

Was to empower, to inspire to.

00:13:42:18 – 00:13:43:09

Kute Blackson

You know, as I’ve.

00:13:43:09 – 00:13:45:08

Kute Blackson

Gone deeper in my evolution to.

00:13:45:08 – 00:13:45:24

Kute Blackson

Help people.

00:13:45:24 – 00:13:53:14

Kute Blackson

Remember who they really are, beyond all the illusions and layers of conditioning, to help people be.

00:13:53:14 – 00:13:55:16

Kute Blackson

Free and find the freedom of their.

00:13:55:16 – 00:13:56:04

Kute Blackson

Being.

00:13:56:13 – 00:13:58:14

Kute Blackson

The freedom that is innate, the freedom that is.

00:13:58:14 – 00:14:00:09

Kute Blackson

Their true nature. And so for me.

00:14:01:02 – 00:14:18:15

Kute Blackson

There’s always been, regardless of how it’s expressed. I mean, you saw me doing a sort of crazy conscious sort of party for 3000 people. I do seminars, small groups, large groups, regardless of what the the format is the essence and the purpose.

00:14:18:16 – 00:14:21:23

Kute Blackson

Is the same, which is to help people remember who they are. And so.

00:14:22:05 – 00:14:26:19

Kute Blackson

I think that the light bulb really crystallized.

00:14:27:03 – 00:14:27:18

Kute Blackson

When.

00:14:28:10 – 00:14:34:04

Kute Blackson

I was already in the US. I went through a cycle of things not.

00:14:34:04 – 00:14:35:12

Kute Blackson

Working out, dreams.

00:14:35:12 – 00:14:35:20

Kute Blackson

Falling.

00:14:35:20 – 00:14:37:03

Kute Blackson

Apart and not.

00:14:37:03 – 00:14:41:22

Kute Blackson

Manifesting what I thought I wanted. And I thought at the age of 21 I thought I wanted to be.

00:14:42:06 – 00:14:46:16

Kute Blackson

Like the next Oprah and have a TV show and and, you know, have a talk.

00:14:46:16 – 00:14:48:09

Kute Blackson

Show when I was really going.

00:14:48:09 – 00:14:48:18

Kute Blackson

For it.

00:14:48:18 – 00:14:59:21

Kute Blackson

And again, long story short, I had an opportunity to do a show. And when I sat with my truth in the guidance, I was guided not to.

00:14:59:22 – 00:15:01:17

Kute Blackson

And that took me into a deep.

00:15:02:10 – 00:15:02:22

Kute Blackson

I don’t want to say.

00:15:02:22 – 00:15:04:08

Kute Blackson

Depression, but a bit of a funk.

00:15:04:23 – 00:15:11:13

Kute Blackson

And I threw my arms up to the universe and I said, God, I don’t know what the hell you want me to do anymore with my life. And that led me to traveling.

00:15:11:24 – 00:15:12:21

Kute Blackson

I went to.

00:15:12:21 – 00:15:14:03

Kute Blackson

Israel, studied with.

00:15:14:03 – 00:15:18:21

Kute Blackson

Some rabbis, and walked the path of Jesus. I went to.

00:15:18:24 – 00:15:21:00

Kute Blackson

The Camino, which was a 900.

00:15:21:00 – 00:15:24:06

Kute Blackson

Kilometer trek, and just walked with a backpack and shaved my head.

00:15:24:13 – 00:15:35:16

Kute Blackson

Like I want to work in offices. This. I’m like, Why the hell am I here? And then I ended up in India, and it was my time in India that I would say cracked me open to a deeper.

00:15:35:16 – 00:15:38:01

Kute Blackson

Sense of who I am and a deeper realization of.

00:15:38:01 – 00:15:40:23

Kute Blackson

Okay, this is why I’m here. And that’s when it was that.

00:15:40:23 – 00:15:41:09

Kute Blackson

Shift.

00:15:42:14 – 00:15:45:14

Kute Blackson

In that opening, that awakening that occurred for me, that that’s when I came.

00:15:45:14 – 00:15:49:22

Kute Blackson

Back to the U.S. with a new vision and a kind of clarity.

00:15:49:22 – 00:15:53:19

Kute Blackson

And that’s when I started. You know, we’re talking 20 years ago. That’s when I started.

00:15:54:06 – 00:16:01:02

Kute Blackson

Working with people one on one in a small room. That’s when I created.

00:16:01:02 – 00:16:01:13

Kute Blackson

My way.

00:16:01:13 – 00:16:01:24

Kute Blackson

Of working.

00:16:01:24 – 00:16:03:02

Kute Blackson

With people that I called on.

00:16:03:02 – 00:16:14:16

Kute Blackson

Coaching, and that’s when it just started to grow out of a sincere desire to help people find themselves, to help people get sleep. And so that’s how it began.

00:16:15:06 – 00:16:41:13

Nathan Crane

You know, I think that’s the best. Anything that comes from that true place of desire to serve, right? Whether it’s people, it’s the planet, it’s animals. It’s your neighborhoods, your family, whatever. But anything comes out of that, that true desire to be of service. What comes from that in the form of a vision, a thought, inspiration, you know, an idea.

00:16:42:00 – 00:17:06:10

Nathan Crane

If you follow that, usually that’s when things start to work out, right? Like doors start to open. And like you said, you know, when you’re really in touch with your your purpose, it’s not like everything is easy. But what I found is that if you stay with those tests of life, you know, God testing you, if you will, to say, hey, are you is this something you really want to do?

00:17:06:10 – 00:17:23:03

Nathan Crane

Is this something you’re really willing to do? You’re willing to go through the fire to transform and into that Phenix that you’re here to become, Right? And sometimes you have to go through that fire. But when you stay committed to it, it’s like a little door opens, right? And you’re like, Oh, I see a little bit more light.

00:17:23:03 – 00:17:44:19

Nathan Crane

And then another little door opens. You’re like, Oh, okay. And you start getting these, these signs and these signals and these confirmations and affirmations that, hey, I’m on the right path. Hey, I’m meeting the right people, hey, the right situations are happening. And and the more that you listen and do that and walk in that direction, you know, it does get easier, you know?

00:17:44:19 – 00:18:20:21

Nathan Crane

Right. To some degree, you’re still going have challenges, but it’s it’s a lot I should say doesn’t get easier you you get better at dealing with those challenges. And because you love what you’re doing right. Because if you’re following your purpose, you’re you’re very happy to do what you’re doing. You love it most of the time. There’s some things I do, you know, that I would say are essential for me to fulfill my purpose at this stage in my life that I don’t enjoy doing the minutia things right, the answering emails, the things you know, it’s the little things, but that’s like 20% or 30% of what I have to do.

00:18:21:07 – 00:18:47:07

Nathan Crane

And and, you know, 70 to 80% of what I do, I love doing, you know, And I think that’s a sign if I were to ask you and maybe you can talk a little bit about this, you know, if someone asked me and say, well, what’s a sign that you’re living your purpose? Well, you wake up and you look forward to doing it, whether you get paid for it or not, you know, whether that’s something you do eight or 10 hours a day or you do it one or 2 hours a day, but you really look forward to doing that thing.

00:18:47:13 – 00:19:12:21

Nathan Crane

And that thing is contributing not only to the benefit of yourself, but to the benefit of others in some way. I feel like that’s an essential part of, you know, finding your purpose. There’s a lot of people today who are even, let’s say, in their fifties or sixties or who still don’t feel like they have a purpose in life, but they don’t know what their purpose is or they’re searching for their purpose.

00:19:13:08 – 00:19:29:22

Nathan Crane

And you know, what would you say to somebody who is now, you know, either questioning, am I really in my life purpose or, you know, how do I find my purpose? How do I have more purpose in my life? What would you say to somebody with those questions?

00:19:30:06 – 00:19:35:22

Kute Blackson

So I want to tackle that question because it’s a simple question, but it’s also a complex question.

00:19:36:11 – 00:19:37:04

Kute Blackson

And I.

00:19:37:04 – 00:19:38:05

Kute Blackson

Want to tackle that question.

00:19:38:05 – 00:19:42:02

Kute Blackson

From a few different levels.

00:19:42:02 – 00:19:42:23

Kute Blackson

I tell.

00:19:42:23 – 00:19:43:11

Kute Blackson

People.

00:19:44:16 – 00:19:45:09

Kute Blackson

Stop seeking.

00:19:45:09 – 00:19:48:03

Kute Blackson

Your purpose.

00:19:48:03 – 00:19:48:22

Kute Blackson

Stop seeking.

00:19:48:22 – 00:19:49:17

Kute Blackson

Your purpose.

00:19:50:10 – 00:19:51:13

Kute Blackson

Your purpose is not.

00:19:51:21 – 00:19:54:14

Kute Blackson

Necessarily something you have to go and find.

00:19:55:14 – 00:19:56:20

Kute Blackson

On a spiritual level.

00:19:57:09 – 00:19:57:10

Kute Blackson

At.

00:19:58:03 – 00:19:58:15

Kute Blackson

This very.

00:19:58:15 – 00:20:02:07

Kute Blackson

Moment. Right now of your existence.

00:20:02:20 – 00:20:03:22

Kute Blackson

Is the very purpose.

00:20:03:22 – 00:20:04:11

Kute Blackson

Of your life.

00:20:05:14 – 00:20:07:17

Kute Blackson

The ego is constantly seeking some.

00:20:07:17 – 00:20:09:04

Kute Blackson

Purpose other than this moment.

00:20:10:06 – 00:20:17:02

Kute Blackson

To fulfill something, to find something. But the ego, which is really what we perceive ourselves to.

00:20:17:02 – 00:20:17:24

Kute Blackson

Be.

00:20:17:24 – 00:20:19:05

Kute Blackson

Wants to seek and seek.

00:20:19:05 – 00:20:20:10

Kute Blackson

And seek and not really sign.

00:20:21:00 – 00:20:45:21

Kute Blackson

And so in many ways, the constant seeking of our purpose takes us away from the very purpose that is right now. So on a spiritual level, this moment is your purpose. Right now was your purpose. And what I mean by that is we are first and foremost, we are souls with souls. We incarnate into the human experience. To me, this human experience is like a university.

00:20:46:15 – 00:20:48:16

Kute Blackson

For our souls, growth and evolution.

00:20:49:03 – 00:20:49:20

Kute Blackson

To me, this is.

00:20:50:10 – 00:20:52:18

Kute Blackson

Life is like a school for us.

00:20:52:18 – 00:21:00:10

Kute Blackson

To grow and evolve and every experience and every situation and every relationship and every single thing that we go through is part of the.

00:21:00:10 – 00:21:03:21

Kute Blackson

Curriculum for our souls, growth and evolution.

00:21:04:05 – 00:21:30:21

Kute Blackson

And if we understand that, first and foremost, we’re souls and we don’t just look at life from a one dimensional sort of goal line level, but we look at life from a soul line level, then it doesn’t really matter on that deeper, bigger spiritual level, what we do, what matters more is regardless of what is happening and regardless of what we’re doing and regardless of what we’re going through, regardless of who we are with it, regardless of what’s happening out here.

00:21:31:20 – 00:21:35:05

Kute Blackson

Am I learning? Am I going, am I evolving?

00:21:35:05 – 00:21:57:09

Kute Blackson

Am I learning the lessons? The why of my soul attracted this experience, this relationship, this breakup, this challenge, this this roadblock? Am I learning the lessons or why am I so attracted to situations and am I becoming more of my authentic self? Am I becoming more of my true nature? Because ultimately all lessons are repeated and to learn.

00:21:57:09 – 00:22:22:06

Kute Blackson

And if we realize that that life is then the process of evolution. So if I’m a soul and we’re here to learn, grow and evolve, and life is a process of evolution, then every moment and every aspect and every relationship and every thing in life is serving your girlfriend evolution. So long as you’re willing to learn, then you will realize that all of life is the purpose of life, so long as you are learning and evolving.

00:22:22:07 – 00:22:29:23

Kute Blackson

So the purpose of life is evolution. And on that bigger level, first and foremost, if you’re evolving, even if like.

00:22:29:24 – 00:22:30:12

Kute Blackson

I’m not sure.

00:22:30:12 – 00:22:48:07

Kute Blackson

What my purpose is, ask yourself, why am I going through this experience? Why am I tracking this experience? And then if you’re able to do the inner mental, emotional, spiritual, psychological, therapeutic healing, regardless of what’s going on, then you are fulfilling your purpose. That’s kind of one level. Now for those that might be like, but what the hell do I do now?

00:22:48:08 – 00:23:21:18

Kute Blackson

Like, I want to do something. I want to express something in the world. Then I will still say to make it even more practical, stop seeking your purpose. The ego wants to seek and seek and seek. That’s one of the ways it reinforces itself. And it doesn’t want to fine. And so we continue seeking. And many times we spend our entire life seeking some elusive purpose out there that we think is going to magically happen and we end up standing on the sidelines, never living what is actually in front of us to live now because we’re busy waiting for some magical purpose to appear.

00:23:21:23 – 00:23:36:16

Kute Blackson

So what I would say to you, if you’re still not sure, like, okay, I understand and I’m a spiritual being and I’m here to evolve, but I still want to do something with my I want to express something in this world. Stop seeking for some purpose out there. Your purpose is not something you find. So what do you do?

00:23:36:20 – 00:23:37:14

Kute Blackson

I would invite.

00:23:37:14 – 00:23:37:23

Kute Blackson

You.

00:23:38:13 – 00:24:05:10

Kute Blackson

To simply take a step and go in the directions for things. Go in the direction of what lights you up. Go in the direction of what makes you come alive. Go in that direction of what turns you on. What makes you come alive, what turns you on, what lights up. You being in your soul. You don’t have to know what your purpose is and what that expression is in order to get to exactly where you need to be.

00:24:05:10 – 00:24:21:21

Kute Blackson

But you do need to take a step and move in that direction. When you take a step in the direction of what turns, you want to lift you up and take a step. What I have found is life will be used to you. The next step, you take another step. Life reveals to the next step in the process of living life.

00:24:21:21 – 00:24:46:22

Kute Blackson

It’s a revelation, but many times from the sidelines and our current level of consciousness, we’re trying to figure out the entire pathway, the entire road to our purpose from our current level of consciousness. And you can’t figure out the ultimate purpose for why you’re here based on the current dimension and identity of who you are now. Every step you take, you go, you evolve, you go, you evolve, you change your consciousness, you expand your consciousness, you develop more internal power, you become more available.

00:24:46:22 – 00:25:08:22

Kute Blackson

You become already life. Then God gives you more then gives you more. So your purpose often ends up revealed to you in the process of living itself. So step one go in the direction of what turns you on. For me, I love speaking, and so I would literally do it for free. I would sneak into my father’s church and that was speaking 2 hours a night, living my purpose for free with no one around.

00:25:08:22 – 00:25:28:02

Kute Blackson

So that’s a sign that turns me on. We’re doing this podcast, this is the source of a liveliness for me. I’m not being paid, but this is like I feel most alive when I’m sharing my gifts, my talents, and the message that I so life is seeking to express to me. So what makes me come alive? Number two, ask yourself, because that alone is not enough.

00:25:28:02 – 00:25:49:11

Kute Blackson

You might say, Well, I love fucking basketball, but if you’re two for one, probably you’re not going to be an NBA basketball player. You’re not going to live. I love Formula One, but I’m not going to be the next Lewis Hamilton. So chances of that being my purpose as a race car driver, probably not. And so I would say ask yourself what tangible specific skills do you have?

00:25:50:03 – 00:26:12:03

Kute Blackson

What tangible skills do you have? And if you look back many times, you don’t value the skills that we have because they come easy to us. And if you look back at every single job you’ve had, every single experience you’ve been through, every single job that you’ve hated has probably been a necessary growth evolutionary opportunity for you to learn a particular skill.

00:26:12:06 – 00:26:27:03

Kute Blackson

And even though that job wasn’t the ultimate purpose, this is why I tell people, even if you’re working a job that you hate, learn what you need to learn, because there’s probably something even in that job that you hate, that you’re needing to learn. That’s going to be a necessary puzzle piece for the ultimate expression of your purpose.

00:26:27:03 – 00:26:52:05

Kute Blackson

And so look at what tangible skills you have that’s being practical. Then look at what unique problems that you are gifted and able to solve. To me, making money is a function of adding value. When you add value, when you solve someone’s pain problem or challenge. And so look at what are the what are the problems in the world, what are the things I complain about and what unique gifts do I have that might be able to solve someone’s pain problem?

00:26:52:05 – 00:27:13:06

Kute Blackson

Well, challenge and add value. And that’s also my point. You in the direction of what your purpose is. And lastly, I would say look at what group of people, the whales, the elderly, you know, teenage, you know, pregnant girls, you know, it doesn’t even really matter. But what group of people do you feel.

00:27:14:04 – 00:27:15:21

Kute Blackson

A soul connection to?

00:27:16:07 – 00:27:17:02

Kute Blackson

An affinity.

00:27:17:02 – 00:27:18:14

Kute Blackson

To a.

00:27:18:14 – 00:27:29:09

Kute Blackson

Resonance with that also might point you in the direction of the group of people you’re here to serve many times. And here’s a mistake. People make.

00:27:29:09 – 00:27:33:09

Kute Blackson

We’re looking for a big purpose.

00:27:33:18 – 00:27:41:23

Kute Blackson

We’re waiting for some big, magnificent purpose. And I tell people simply.

00:27:42:00 – 00:27:43:20

Kute Blackson

Look around you right now.

00:27:44:23 – 00:27:45:04

Kute Blackson

And.

00:27:45:04 – 00:27:46:01

Kute Blackson

Respond.

00:27:46:17 – 00:27:47:01

Kute Blackson

To the.

00:27:47:01 – 00:27:49:06

Kute Blackson

Need in the moment.

00:27:49:23 – 00:27:51:22

Kute Blackson

If you respond to the.

00:27:51:22 – 00:27:52:11

Kute Blackson

Need.

00:27:52:17 – 00:27:54:01

Kute Blackson

That is right in front of you.

00:27:54:21 – 00:27:58:02

Kute Blackson

Likely life will give you more.

00:27:59:01 – 00:28:11:01

Kute Blackson

18 years ago, when I first came to the U.S., I would sit on a park bench of Broken Hill. I would sit on a park bench and I would marinate and pray and meditate on like.

00:28:11:12 – 00:28:12:09

Kute Blackson

What’s my purpose?

00:28:12:11 – 00:28:19:10

Kute Blackson

What am I here to do? How am I going to do it? How am I going to do it? And this went on for about three months, and every day I would see this elderly woman.

00:28:19:17 – 00:28:20:10

Kute Blackson

A Russian woman.

00:28:20:21 – 00:28:39:19

Kute Blackson

Elderly Russian woman. She must have been in her eighties, little tiny, like four foot seven, tiny little woman struggling with grocery bags everyday, shit falling everywhere, stuff lying everywhere. But every day I would see this woman on my park bench while I was meditating on what’s my purpose? But I want to do some big thing to save humanity.

00:28:40:06 – 00:29:03:03

Kute Blackson

And one day I woke up and I said, Here I am sitting about, here I am meditating, sitting around, waiting for some big purpose. When right in front of me is this woman who clearly needs help in Harlem. And I saw for myself, How am I going to be entrusted with millions, thousands if I’m not even responding to helping one?

00:29:03:09 – 00:29:15:18

Kute Blackson

Yeah, so many times we have this idea, but we’re not responding to what’s in front of us. So I say, stop with where you are, with who you are exactly as life is.

00:29:16:07 – 00:29:16:23

Kute Blackson

And respond.

00:29:16:23 – 00:29:17:12

Kute Blackson

To the need in the.

00:29:17:12 – 00:29:18:20

Kute Blackson

Moment. And that will.

00:29:18:20 – 00:29:22:08

Kute Blackson

Be that will surely lead you to more. So I got my ass off.

00:29:22:08 – 00:29:30:07

Kute Blackson

The park bench and went and helped her with the groceries. And that led to an amazing friendship and understanding a lot. And she gave me many gifts.

00:29:30:23 – 00:30:00:18

Nathan Crane

00:30:00:18 – 00:30:35:05

Nathan Crane

I’m just giving to you for free. You can go download it at becoming cancer free dot com. All right, let’s get back to the show. Yeah, that’s so beautiful. And I mean truly incredible words of wisdom, dude. Like everything that you just said is literally I mean, explain kind of my life and discovering, you know, purpose and meaning in my life like to a T right where like I wasn’t I don’t I don’t think I was ever really spending months or years trying to figure out what my purpose was.

00:30:35:05 – 00:31:11:06

Nathan Crane

It was more of like that commitment to, to discovering myself, right, to healing myself, to overcoming the addiction, you know, the hardcore addiction that I had as a teenager, you know, where I ended up homeless and addicted to hard drugs and cocaine and methamphetamine and alcohol and in and out of jail and almost dead at 18 and then at 18 having this big awakening moment, also seeing myself, one of the rare times I was sober at that age, seeing myself standing on a stage, speaking to like thousands of people.

00:31:11:13 – 00:31:40:08

Nathan Crane

And I saw this like future potential purpose in my life. And it gave me this glimpse of like hope, of possibility of like, oh, could that could that maybe be my life? You know? So it was really an incredible experience. And at 18, I drove to San Diego, ran out of gas in Oceanside, and basically started my life over and got committed to, you know, healing myself, learning meditation and exercising and eating clean and cleaning out my body.

00:31:40:08 – 00:32:02:13

Nathan Crane

Right. And so through that process, going back to your point of like focusing on living in the moment and deal with what you’re dealing with, you know, the the thought that came up to me as you were talking about that is like we have to make the healing of ourselves and the awakening of ourselves. Priority number one, right?

00:32:02:13 – 00:32:31:16

Nathan Crane

Because how are we going to go out into the world and fulfill this whatever big purpose is, if we’re not focusing on our own internal health and well-being and healing and awakening? So when you said your purpose on earth, all of our purpose on earth, number one, let’s just say at a foundational level, right? We could stack multiple levels of purpose and meaning in life, But at a foundational level, all of our purpose is to learn and grow and evolve, right?

00:32:31:17 – 00:32:52:08

Nathan Crane

100% resonate with that, because if we’re always focusing on that, how can I improve my health, right? How can I be a better father, better husband? How can I be, you know, how can I take better care of this body? How can I feel my emotions and get better with my mental and emotional well-being? How can I connect to a higher power and have more of a spiritual connection in life?

00:32:52:08 – 00:33:18:01

Nathan Crane

If we’re always focusing on those things and we’re we’re focusing on that on an ongoing basis, there’s always something to work on. It gives us deep purpose and meaning. And then, as you say, something shows up in your life, some opportunity to help a woman whose groceries are falling all over the street or, you know, something so simple that can lead to the next thing, to the next thing to the next thing, all the sudden, you see this purpose unfold in front of you.

00:33:18:11 – 00:33:45:00

Nathan Crane

At eight years old, I was taking my mom’s big handycam with the big VCR tapes and going out and filming my friends and I skateboarding, you know, just just for fun. We were skateboarding, we loved skateboarding, but I took the cameras and just started filming us. I just make little home videos, you know? I was doing Jackass at, I think, 12 years old before, like Jackass existed, you know, doing crazy stuff.

00:33:45:00 – 00:34:11:03

Nathan Crane

But I was always filming stuff. You know, the point is and, you know, and however many years later, 20 years later or whatever it was, 25 years later, 27 years later, I end up directing, producing, scripting and editing my own documentary film about helping people with cancer that ended up winning 20 awards, you know, and I didn’t go to school for film and I didn’t.

00:34:11:03 – 00:34:28:23

Nathan Crane

It was all self-taught and self learned along the way. But look back at even those things in your childhood that you were doing, right where I was like, I’m just taking a camera and just filming, you know? And then I didn’t touch a camera for like 15 years. And then all of a sudden I had this passion of like, Hey, we’ll learn how to film and do this stuff and make a documentary and help people.

00:34:28:23 – 00:34:48:09

Nathan Crane

And you start connecting your passions. I would say another level and let me know your thoughts on this, like another level of purpose. Let’s say that foundational one is like always focusing on growth and learning and becoming better in every way, right? Level two, I might say on top of that is like, find the things in this, what you’re just talking about.

00:34:48:14 – 00:35:08:05

Nathan Crane

I would I would word it like find the things you’re passionate about and couple that with this some skills that you have or learn some new skills that can then, you know, go out and be beneficial to people or animals or the planet, whatever you have a passion for. Right? And that’s how I started my company years ago was I just did it for free.

00:35:08:06 – 00:35:38:22

Nathan Crane

I just was so in love with personal development and health and spirituality. I said, I’m going to star an online free community. I call it teachers of life and students of life and and bring people together to learn, to grow, to share. Did absolutely free turned down a really high paying job in sales and marketing because my heart like you were talking about it was like, yeah, if I go over here, I got this solves all my money problems that I have right now, but I’m I’m going to be totally unfulfilled.

00:35:39:05 – 00:35:51:08

Nathan Crane

But if go over here and do this crazy, weird thing that I have no idea how to make money with, and I don’t even know if I will pay the rent this this month. And we got a new kid on the way and whatever. But this is where I feel like I’m going to I’m going to be more fulfilled in my life.

00:35:51:08 – 00:36:03:03

Nathan Crane

And I chose that direction. And it was not easy. It was not easier. It was harder, for sure. But looking back now, however many years, 12, 13, 14 years later, that was absolutely the right decision.

00:36:04:01 – 00:36:05:02

Kute Blackson

Yeah. Sometimes what your.

00:36:05:02 – 00:36:25:02

Kute Blackson

Soul guides you to do doesn’t always sense, and sometimes what your soul guides you to do is not always convenient. But when you I believe through my own experience, that when you listen to your soul and you allow your soul to guide you and leads you, you will always.

00:36:25:03 – 00:36:26:14

Kute Blackson

Always end up in the.

00:36:26:14 – 00:36:30:03

Kute Blackson

Right place with the right people doing the right thing. You may not.

00:36:30:03 – 00:36:30:12

Kute Blackson

Take the.

00:36:30:12 – 00:36:35:02

Kute Blackson

Route that you most expected, but you will end up where you need to be.

00:36:35:07 – 00:36:39:06

Kute Blackson

And you know, for me, the soul, souls, purpose is evolution.

00:36:39:13 – 00:36:42:09

Kute Blackson

It doesn’t care about comfort because about evolution.

00:36:42:16 – 00:36:49:13

Kute Blackson

And so I think so long as we are following our soul, then we will evolve. And I think what sometimes blocks.

00:36:49:13 – 00:36:50:01

Kute Blackson

Us.

00:36:50:01 – 00:36:54:08

Kute Blackson

From living our purpose, from manifesting that next level of our.

00:36:54:09 – 00:36:58:07

Kute Blackson

Expression is we have not evolved.

00:36:58:07 – 00:36:59:16

Kute Blackson

We have not actually.

00:36:59:16 – 00:37:00:22

Kute Blackson

Learned the lesson.

00:37:01:05 – 00:37:01:21

Kute Blackson

Where we.

00:37:01:21 – 00:37:09:19

Kute Blackson

Are, when we are with who we’re with, and we don’t realize that shit. Why evolution and learning and.

00:37:09:19 – 00:37:14:18

Kute Blackson

Healing and following our soul is so important. Because if we don’t learn that lesson where.

00:37:14:18 – 00:37:18:02

Kute Blackson

We are cycling in patterns of our relationships.

00:37:18:02 – 00:37:23:21

Kute Blackson

Not loving ourselves, you know, not honoring ourselves, all of these things, if we don’t learn the lesson where.

00:37:23:21 – 00:37:25:23

Kute Blackson

We are energetically, emotionally, spiritually.

00:37:25:23 – 00:37:29:24

Kute Blackson

Karmically, it’s like the next level of our.

00:37:29:24 – 00:37:30:13

Kute Blackson

Life.

00:37:30:17 – 00:37:56:07

Kute Blackson

Doesn’t open up and so awesome. We actually stay stuck in the next level of our. We might want to reach a bigger level, but we haven’t freed ourselves as the patterns and layers, the lessons that are able to that we’re not fully able to embody the readiness for the next level. And so if we haven’t learned the lesson where we are, but we want to reach, you know, 20 steps ahead, but we haven’t learned where we are, It doesn’t it doesn’t work that way.

00:37:56:07 – 00:37:57:16

Kute Blackson

So I think if someone really.

00:37:57:16 – 00:37:58:07

Kute Blackson

Wants to.

00:37:59:03 – 00:38:01:05

Kute Blackson

Live their purpose at the next level.

00:38:02:11 – 00:38:03:00

Kute Blackson

Look at your.

00:38:03:00 – 00:38:18:18

Kute Blackson

Life. Right now. What we tend to do is we tend force, we tend to push, we tend to try to control life. We tend to push harder to get to that next level. I want to live my purpose to the next level. But the challenge is if we haven’t learned the lesson well, we are the next level.

00:38:18:18 – 00:38:19:23

Kute Blackson

Awesome doesn’t unlock.

00:38:20:05 – 00:38:27:08

Kute Blackson

And so if things don’t seem to be unlocking, look around in your life and ask yourself what they are.

00:38:27:08 – 00:38:29:01

Kute Blackson

It’s like the situation and experience.

00:38:29:13 – 00:38:31:23

Kute Blackson

What is my soul seeking to learn from this.

00:38:31:23 – 00:38:33:02

Kute Blackson

Dynamic in my life?

00:38:33:07 – 00:38:51:19

Kute Blackson

From this experience in my life, from this job that I can’t seem to get out of. I have this vision, but I’m stuck in what is what is my soul seeking to What haven’t I learned yet? What am I afraid to learn? What do I not want to learn? Why have I attracted this experience into my life? And what am I seeking to learn?

00:38:51:19 – 00:39:01:22

Kute Blackson

Because if you can truly learn that, you begin to unhook yourself and you begin to transcend that experience.

00:39:02:04 – 00:39:03:04

Kute Blackson

To a new level.

00:39:03:15 – 00:39:11:19

Kute Blackson

Of experience. And that’s when your energy shifts, your vibration shifts, your frequency shifts, and you start to draw to you and attract.

00:39:11:19 – 00:39:12:12

Kute Blackson

To you.

00:39:13:05 – 00:39:18:09

Kute Blackson

From the energetic vibrational resonance of just who you are being.

00:39:18:09 – 00:39:18:18

Kute Blackson

Now.

00:39:19:00 – 00:39:32:02

Kute Blackson

Experiences and situations and opportunities that resonate with who you are because you have graduated to the next level. And so I think that’s that’s super important. Many times we keep ourselves stuck at the level.

00:39:32:08 – 00:39:34:23

Kute Blackson

Because we haven’t learned the lessons for that.

00:39:34:23 – 00:39:41:22

Kute Blackson

Next level. Some sometimes to the purpose that we think is our purpose.

00:39:42:24 – 00:39:44:04

Kute Blackson

Not really our purpose.

00:39:45:03 – 00:40:14:16

Nathan Crane

Now, let’s get back to the show.

00:41:07:02 – 00:41:27:21

Kute Blackson

Is just kind of what we think our purpose should be. It’s what we based on looking around that everyone else on social media, based on looking around at our family and friends and what we’ve been conditioned and told by society, by parents, by religion, by family, by those by educational system. And so we’re kind of pursuing a purpose that we think should be our purpose.

00:41:27:21 – 00:41:40:23

Kute Blackson

The goal I should be a coach or I should be a nurse, so I should do this thing. I shouldn’t be a doctor. But the purpose is not truly as great as it even might be, is not truly, authentically in.

00:41:40:23 – 00:41:41:23

Kute Blackson

Alignment.

00:41:43:00 – 00:42:01:14

Kute Blackson

With our souls. And so things then don’t open up. Even though it sounds good. You want to be a coach, you want to be a healer, you want to be a doctor. But if it’s not truly aligned with our souls, highest intention, then life will sometimes not open up.

00:42:01:14 – 00:42:02:16

Kute Blackson

As as.

00:42:02:16 – 00:42:23:09

Kute Blackson

Kind of like feedback to us, the opportunity for lies to course correct us. And so when things don’t open up, when you’re living what you think your purpose is, step back and ask yourself, Is the purpose I’m following? Is it really my purpose? Is it truly my purpose, or is it my parents? Is it someone else’s? What I think I should should be living based on my conditioning?

00:42:23:13 – 00:42:27:06

Kute Blackson

Is it really my purpose? So that’s the opportunity to step back.

00:42:27:09 – 00:42:32:10

Kute Blackson

And go inside and reflect and reconnect and get really honest.

00:42:32:10 – 00:42:33:10

Kute Blackson

With oneself. Like.

00:42:34:05 – 00:42:38:03

Kute Blackson

What is my purpose, really? What truly is my purpose?

00:42:38:03 – 00:42:56:15

Kute Blackson

And ask oneself the question. Sometimes purpose doesn’t manifest in this moment, not because it’s not aligned, but it just may not be the time. And yet to fully express it may not be the time to leave your job right now. There still might be some lessons you need to learn the universe. It may not be that seasoned quite yet.

00:42:56:15 – 00:42:57:02

Kute Blackson

To.

00:42:58:08 – 00:43:02:17

Kute Blackson

Express your purpose. And so that that may be an opportunity to exercise patience.

00:43:02:23 – 00:43:03:10

Kute Blackson

But also.

00:43:03:10 – 00:43:03:21

Kute Blackson

Prepare.

00:43:03:21 – 00:43:04:11

Kute Blackson

Yourself.

00:43:04:19 – 00:43:08:19

Kute Blackson

The preparation is important because when when a mango is.

00:43:08:19 – 00:43:10:23

Kute Blackson

Ripe.

00:43:10:23 – 00:43:11:22

Kute Blackson

It falls from the.

00:43:11:22 – 00:43:12:06

Kute Blackson

Tree.

00:43:12:18 – 00:43:30:13

Kute Blackson

If you look at Nelson Mandela, he spent 27 years in prison. We could see, well, was he not living his purpose? He missed 27 years of living his purpose. What a waste. Was it a waste? Maybe it took 20.

00:43:30:13 – 00:43:31:10

Kute Blackson

Seven years.

00:43:32:07 – 00:43:32:19

Kute Blackson

For him to.

00:43:32:19 – 00:43:33:07

Kute Blackson

Cook.

00:43:34:08 – 00:43:42:09

Kute Blackson

So the divine sort of the cosmic. The cosmic chef. Right. To marinate his soul, Marinate his ego.

00:43:43:00 – 00:43:43:04

Kute Blackson

Like.

00:43:43:08 – 00:43:50:00

Kute Blackson

Imagine 27 years, the depths of forgiveness, the depths of compassion, the depths.

00:43:50:00 – 00:43:50:10

Kute Blackson

Of.

00:43:50:17 – 00:44:02:05

Kute Blackson

Surrender, the depth of connecting to go out and the divine that you have to go to to even stay sane and to be able to come out. So 27 years to marinate, to develop the the.

00:44:02:10 – 00:44:05:01

Kute Blackson

Soul force that.

00:44:06:01 – 00:44:11:04

Kute Blackson

Was what was necessary for him so that he could come out of prison and resonate.

00:44:11:04 – 00:44:14:00

Kute Blackson

At such a level of understanding and consciousness and.

00:44:14:00 – 00:44:20:12

Kute Blackson

Power of soul that in a few short years he was able to impact humanity, impact generations to.

00:44:20:12 – 00:44:22:17

Kute Blackson

Come in such a short period of time.

00:44:23:00 – 00:44:28:05

Kute Blackson

And so if you’re not living your purpose, just make sure that you’re using that time to.

00:44:28:05 – 00:44:29:19

Kute Blackson

Also prepare yourself so.

00:44:29:19 – 00:44:46:02

Kute Blackson

That you’re ready when the opportunity comes. Because if we put if we pull the cake out, if we pull the turkey or the cake out of the oven and it’s not fully baked, even if everything around you is right, it won’t what you create won’t be sustainable.

00:44:46:08 – 00:44:47:09

Kute Blackson

Or you just won’t be ready.

00:44:48:05 – 00:45:13:23

Nathan Crane

Yeah, that’s so powerful. What a great example too. And it goes back to, you know, what you said and what we’ve been talking about is like if you’re if you’re always focused on, you know, that core level of your purpose of of evolution, of growth, of learning, then when these opportunities like Nelson Mandela to become president and to, you know, do the amazing work that he did and or or whatever it is, it doesn’t even have to be that big of a thing.

00:45:13:23 – 00:45:36:08

Nathan Crane

But when that opportunity comes, you’re ready for it. As you said, to be seasoned, you marinated, you’re prepared. A couple of things real quick. One is I just want to highlight this again. And if people are listening where they can write this down, I so encourage you to write this down because this has been the biggest question that has helped me in so many challenging times in my life.

00:45:36:08 – 00:46:00:15

Nathan Crane

And that’s the question that you said, which is what is this here to teach me, right. This relationship, this this traumatizing experience, this business failure, this cancer diagnosis, this health challenge, what is it here to teach me? What do I need to learn from this? What is my soul giving? You can even look at it like that was my soul giving me this lesson for what do I need to learn from this?

00:46:01:00 – 00:46:30:13

Nathan Crane

You know, cancer patients I’ve worked with for over the past decade, plus the ones who have reversed cancer and oftentimes stage four, quote unquote, incurable cancers. So many of them have that question in common and said, what is this here to teach me? What can I learn from it? And when they approached it with that mindset and they started changing their diet and their lifestyle and meditating and loving themselves more and eating cleaner and exercising and start loving this healthy lifestyle that they embodied.

00:46:30:13 – 00:46:45:23

Nathan Crane

And then all of a sudden they found purpose and meaning and happiness and health in their life. And then they kind of forget about the cancer. And the cancer just actually ends up going away. It didn’t become this fight of I have to kill and get rid of this cancer. It was more of like, I have to learn to live.

00:46:46:06 – 00:47:12:05

Nathan Crane

I have to learn to love myself. I have to learn to take care of myself and my health. And yeah, there’s no guarantee that, you know, whatever diagnosis someone is dealing with is going to go away with that. But in so many cases, more often than not, the people who have healed from so many different kinds of chronic diseases using a more holistic approach or even using conventional medicine, I’ve met people who, you know, they shifted everything about their life and said, look, what is this here to teach me?

00:47:12:06 – 00:47:33:06

Nathan Crane

How do I need to improve and grow and evolve from this challenging circumstance? So that question just embody it. And then, you know, it’s important to to ask it in in the best in the best state that you can get in. Right. Like you can be in an angry, upset, scared, afraid state. And that’s fine. That emotion is fine.

00:47:33:06 – 00:47:59:11

Nathan Crane

And God, why, why, why this experience? Why? You know, but if you can calm yourself and get into a meditative state and ask, you know, sincerely, why is this experience happening to me? What am I why do I need to learn from this to help me get to the next level of my own evolution? And sometimes the answers like that, and sometimes the answer comes in little trickles over weeks and months, right?

00:47:59:17 – 00:48:23:17

Nathan Crane

And sometimes it’s just a an aha moment when you’re taking a shower. But I’ve always found that when I ask that question in those challenging situations, the answer always appears at some point. And I think that’s that’s so powerful. Yeah. So I’m glad that you I’m glad you shared. I just wanted to highlight it again because I think it’s I think it’s essential, you know.

00:48:24:13 – 00:48:26:01

Kute Blackson

Yeah. One thing I just want to.

00:48:26:01 – 00:48:46:04

Kute Blackson

Add, maybe also to a mix of you just took this is, you know, many times those are those challenging situations that arise in our lives. The the darkness, the diagnosis, the illness that the ease, the pain, the heartbreak that that that.

00:48:47:02 – 00:48:51:18

Kute Blackson

Difficult person that, you know, we curse at saying he’s a jerk or what.

00:48:51:18 – 00:49:09:09

Kute Blackson

Have you. On some level, if we understand that we’re souls, we were able to begin to shift our entire relationship to these experiences because then you start seeing these experiences as grace.

00:49:10:03 – 00:49:11:11

Kute Blackson

These experiences.

00:49:11:11 – 00:49:12:06

Kute Blackson

Are kind of.

00:49:12:24 – 00:49:13:23

Kute Blackson

Bringing you.

00:49:13:23 – 00:49:16:12

Kute Blackson

If you’re willing to evolve and ask the question.

00:49:17:07 – 00:49:18:15

Kute Blackson

The bringing you back.

00:49:18:15 – 00:49:20:17

Kute Blackson

Home to your truth.

00:49:20:17 – 00:49:21:19

Kute Blackson

They’re bringing you back.

00:49:21:19 – 00:49:24:09

Kute Blackson

Home to yourself. They’re giving.

00:49:24:09 – 00:49:27:06

Kute Blackson

You the opportunity to experience.

00:49:27:06 – 00:49:30:01

Kute Blackson

Another dimension of yourself.

00:49:30:01 – 00:49:38:10

Kute Blackson

What’s what’s on the flip side of the experience is giving you the opportunity to experience what’s on the flip side of the experience, which may be more self loving.

00:49:38:16 – 00:49:39:01

Kute Blackson

You know.

00:49:39:07 – 00:49:47:11

Kute Blackson

If you have a diagnosis, you will have shit, I need to love my body. I need to love myself so that that disease is then giving you the opportunity.

00:49:47:22 – 00:49:49:16

Kute Blackson

As a teacher, as.

00:49:49:16 – 00:49:51:03

Kute Blackson

A blessed teacher, to.

00:49:52:10 – 00:49:53:08

Kute Blackson

To love yourself.

00:49:53:14 – 00:49:58:24

Kute Blackson

So it’s not it hasn’t come into your life to, like, screw you up. It’s come to.

00:49:59:07 – 00:50:02:08

Kute Blackson

Give you the gift of self love.

00:50:03:00 – 00:50:08:02

Kute Blackson

And if you understand that, then you can shift the relationship with, let’s see.

00:50:08:10 – 00:50:09:07

Kute Blackson

The cancer.

00:50:09:07 – 00:50:23:14

Kute Blackson

You can shift your relationship with your ex. Then you can come to the point of like, Thank you, but thank you for breaking my heart. Because through this experience it taught me to love myself. It taught me to, you know, value what’s.

00:50:23:14 – 00:50:25:05

Kute Blackson

Important. It taught me to.

00:50:25:18 – 00:50:32:14

Kute Blackson

Fill in the blank. And then when, when, when, then we’re no longer resisting the experience, Then we’re no longer in a sort.

00:50:32:14 – 00:50:32:18

Kute Blackson

Of.

00:50:33:09 – 00:50:35:10

Kute Blackson

Adversarial relationship.

00:50:35:10 – 00:50:35:18

Kute Blackson

With.

00:50:35:18 – 00:50:36:00

Kute Blackson

What’s.

00:50:36:00 – 00:50:43:07

Kute Blackson

Showing up. We can embrace it and we can welcome it, and we can love whatever is happening, love, whatever.

00:50:43:07 – 00:50:47:04

Kute Blackson

Is arising, realizing that whatever it is arising is, is.

00:50:48:15 – 00:50:53:24

Kute Blackson

Is conspire for our evolution and to give us something. When my mother had cancer.

00:50:54:13 – 00:50:55:15

Kute Blackson

At first I was a bit.

00:50:55:15 – 00:50:56:12

Kute Blackson

Mad and.

00:50:56:22 – 00:50:57:14

Kute Blackson

At first I.

00:50:57:14 – 00:51:02:07

Kute Blackson

Was, you know, she had stage four cancer and I was flying back and forth.

00:51:02:07 – 00:51:03:06

Kute Blackson

From London, from L.A..

00:51:03:06 – 00:51:11:23

Kute Blackson

To London literally every month. So to be with her and be with her for a week, be with her, she chose to do chemo. Be with her in chemo, I would hold her.

00:51:11:23 – 00:51:13:05

Kute Blackson

Hand and we will talk for eight.

00:51:13:05 – 00:51:28:17

Kute Blackson

Hours in a chemo session. And then I would spend days with her and we would just talk. And I realized, man, that I, I hadn’t sat and talk with my mom since I was like four, 8 hours since I was like a child.

00:51:28:17 – 00:51:29:14

Kute Blackson

And I was so.

00:51:29:14 – 00:51:31:22

Kute Blackson

Busy running around.

00:51:32:19 – 00:51:38:03

Kute Blackson

Saving the world that I you know, I didn’t make time for just.

00:51:38:10 – 00:51:41:08

Kute Blackson

Being with her. I didn’t meet. I thought I didn’t have time.

00:51:41:16 – 00:51:48:04

Kute Blackson

I thought certain things one important. And when I would sit there with her, asked about three, four.

00:51:48:04 – 00:51:58:08

Kute Blackson

Months into the process, I felt I felt such a blessing to have this opportunity to be with her and love her and hold her hand and.

00:51:58:22 – 00:52:01:00

Kute Blackson

All of these ordinary.

00:52:01:00 – 00:52:04:11

Kute Blackson

Moments that I realized I had missed so.

00:52:04:11 – 00:52:06:03

Kute Blackson

Many of these ordinary.

00:52:06:03 – 00:52:09:01

Kute Blackson

Moments of life in an effort to.

00:52:09:16 – 00:52:12:12

Kute Blackson

Serve people, I saw how.

00:52:12:12 – 00:52:15:00

Kute Blackson

Much of life I had missed out on, man.

00:52:15:09 – 00:52:17:12

Kute Blackson

And I turned to my mom.

00:52:17:16 – 00:52:40:22

Kute Blackson

About four months into her chemo and I said, Mom, this is going to sound strange, but cancer has taught me some things. I know it’s your cancer, but it’s it’s and I actually want to thank cancer because it’s taught me in real life what’s really important, and it’s shown me what’s really meaningful.

00:52:41:09 – 00:52:50:24

Kute Blackson

And that moment for me, I mean, we know it. We we speak about it, We read about it. But for me, in that moment, something clicked in terms.

00:52:50:24 – 00:52:52:23

Kute Blackson

Of what’s true in life.

00:52:53:14 – 00:52:57:15

Kute Blackson

And it changed my life. And so I remember feeling in that moment.

00:52:58:05 – 00:53:07:22

Kute Blackson

The sense of just thank cancer, thank cancer for showing me what’s real. Thank cancer for showing me what’s important. Thank cancer for show me what was really meaningful.

00:53:08:09 – 00:53:13:01

Kute Blackson

And it changed my relationship from breast cancer.

00:53:13:01 – 00:53:16:00

Kute Blackson

And I want to thank you. I wish it didn’t.

00:53:16:03 – 00:53:21:24

Kute Blackson

Have I wish this didn’t didn’t have had to happen. But now from that moment of my life.

00:53:21:24 – 00:53:24:12

Kute Blackson

It transformed my relationship with my father.

00:53:24:24 – 00:53:25:11

Kute Blackson

Who I.

00:53:25:11 – 00:53:25:20

Kute Blackson

Was.

00:53:26:06 – 00:53:27:02

Kute Blackson

Not so close.

00:53:27:02 – 00:53:32:04

Kute Blackson

To transform my relationship with people in my life, transform my relationship with my wife.

00:53:32:10 – 00:53:37:08

Kute Blackson

Transform my relationship with So and it had not happened.

00:53:37:08 – 00:53:43:08

Kute Blackson

I would probably still be on the same trajectory, missing out on so many of the beautiful, ordinary moments in life. And so.

00:53:44:05 – 00:53:46:22

Kute Blackson

When when we can embrace what’s.

00:53:46:23 – 00:53:50:11

Kute Blackson

Arising with an open heart, and then.

00:53:50:11 – 00:53:54:04

Kute Blackson

We then we can start seeing underneath what seems to be.

00:53:54:04 – 00:54:04:23

Kute Blackson

Happening. There was love, you know, there was grace there. You know, there was a blessing there, even though it might seem a little different.

00:54:04:23 – 00:54:26:23

Nathan Crane

Yeah, it’s the silver lining, right? It’s a blessing in disguise. And, you know, it’s always there if we are earnestly looking for it. But if we’re in pain, it’s really hard to see that silver lining if we’re in fear. You know, a newly diagnosed cancer, for example, there’s so much it’s very hard to see the silver lining. Right.

00:54:26:23 – 00:54:47:10

Nathan Crane

Unless you unless you’ve been practicing your whole life, you know, it’s still high. It’s still very hard. Yeah. Even when life even you’ve been practicing, You know, I’ve been practicing this way of living since I was 18. So, you know, 17 plus years now. And it’s like, still, life throws me some challenges and, you know, it takes a minute sometimes to like, okay, all right, I got it.

00:54:47:10 – 00:55:14:05

Nathan Crane

You know? Thank you. Appreciate it. Learning from this. I will move on. But it’s it’s still takes some time sometimes to like really so so imagine somebody who’s not looking at life this way as if the universe or God is conspiring in your favor. Somebody who thinks life is against them, always somebody who thinks that, you know, they always you know, they don’t have a purpose in life, don’t have any meaning.

00:55:14:05 – 00:55:39:19

Nathan Crane

They, you know, everything bad happens to them like this negative mental. And I know so many people today, unfortunately, live with this mindset of just constant negativity, like the world’s out to get them. Everything’s against them. Nothing works right? You know, nothing is goes good in their favor. And it’s just this constant, repetitive, negative, you know, thinking loop that that literally becomes self prophesized.

00:55:40:04 – 00:55:57:21

Nathan Crane

Right. And the only way to get out of that loop is to start shifting the paradigm in which we look at the world. That’s it. And we have the power to do that. That’s the cool thing, right? We’ve been given the power of choice and we have the power to shift our lens in which we see the world and how things are happening.

00:55:57:21 – 00:56:15:05

Nathan Crane

And when we do that, it’s amazing what happens in life. You know, I want to go back to something you said. I mean, your story with your mother is so touching and I know there’s so much there to so much more. And we we talked a lot about it in the last interview, too. That was, I think, brought both of us to tears, actually.

00:56:15:05 – 00:56:40:22

Nathan Crane

It was so powerful. Just I think you were sitting there with her, you know, and she she had said something to you before she passed. Right. That was just like deeply meaningful. And maybe you can share that for a second if if you don’t mind. But I just think, you know, being able to like she got to the point where cancer helped her see something as well.

00:56:40:22 – 00:56:41:24

Nathan Crane

Right?

00:56:41:24 – 00:56:58:20

Kute Blackson

Yeah, My mother. So I was with her every month during this process for a week and she was supposed to have an operation. She had stomach cancer. And they basically can have to take a stomach out.

00:57:00:15 – 00:57:01:24

Kute Blackson

And the doctors finally.

00:57:01:24 – 00:57:30:22

Kute Blackson

Came and they said to us, Look, we’re not going to do the operation because we think it’s not worth it and we’re going to do some more chemo treatments to see if it can help. And after some more chemo treatments, they basically sent us down in the hospital and the doctor in a nice way says, there’s nothing else we can do for you, so get your things in order and we don’t know how long you have.

00:57:31:17 – 00:57:56:16

Kute Blackson

And that was a really intense moment because I’d been preparing for this moment. But the moment still has an impact when you realize that the person you love the most is going to die. And I looked at my mother and I looked her in the eyes and I asked the two questions. The first question I asked my mother was, Are you afraid or are you afraid?

00:57:56:16 – 00:58:00:05

Kute Blackson

Like, maybe there’s a miracle.

00:58:00:05 – 00:58:09:06

Kute Blackson

But this is it is this is about to go down and it.

00:58:09:06 – 00:58:10:16

Kute Blackson

Was it was. It was.

00:58:11:10 – 00:58:29:16

Kute Blackson

I’m like, shit, I’m never going to see this woman again. Like and I don’t know when that moment will be, but she won’t be in my life. She’s not going to be around to see my children. She’s not going to be. There was so many more things that I wanted to do with my mom because I thought I had time.

00:58:30:09 – 00:58:31:23

Kute Blackson

I mean, I had so many plans.

00:58:31:23 – 00:58:36:21

Kute Blackson

When this happens, when that happens, I’m going to do that. And I realized that none of that was going to happen.

00:58:37:13 – 00:58:38:15

Kute Blackson

And I saw in that.

00:58:38:15 – 00:59:00:00

Kute Blackson

Moment that for me, the only regret I had in my life and I’ve done a lot of things, but the only regret was not spending more time with my mom. And I looked her in the eyes and I said, Are you afraid? And she looks me in the eyes and she said, Very matter of fact. She said, No, I’m not afraid.

00:59:00:18 – 00:59:03:00

Kute Blackson

And, you know, take into.

00:59:03:00 – 00:59:03:24

Kute Blackson

Consideration it this.

00:59:03:24 – 00:59:15:21

Kute Blackson

Entire eight months, seven months. She was very calm, very much at peace, like we’d go to chemo. She was smiling and just truly.

00:59:15:23 – 00:59:19:17

Kute Blackson

Like in peace, not in denial.

00:59:19:17 – 00:59:42:03

Kute Blackson

Just in complete peace. And I looked on the eyes and I said, Are you afraid? And she says, No, I’m not. I’m not afraid because I know I’m not. This body. This body is a temporary vehicle for my soul. And when this body goes and when this body dies, I will not I will be with you, guiding you from the other side.

00:59:43:08 – 01:00:05:13

Kute Blackson

I know I’m not this body. And she had such a clarity of knowing what she was was beyond this physical mind body mechanism, that she was a soul, she was a spirit. She was conscious that she was energy and it was in peace. And then I looked her in the eyes and I said, Mama, you what can I do for, you know, I wanted to be a good son.

01:00:06:05 – 01:00:11:00

Kute Blackson

What can I do for you? Can I take you somewhere? What do you need? What can I buy?

01:00:11:22 – 01:00:12:18

Kute Blackson

How can I.

01:00:12:18 – 01:00:41:05

Kute Blackson

Make your final days easier? What do you need? And she looks me in the eyes and she says, There’s nothing I want to miss. Nothing I need the only thing I want. So my life is what God wants for my life. That’s it. Nothing else. And she looked at me with such, I don’t know, humility and calmness. And I realized that my mother was free.

01:00:41:23 – 01:00:49:03

Kute Blackson

Like truly free. And I’m like, Damn, my mom’s an enlightened.

01:00:49:20 – 01:00:55:18

Kute Blackson

B, you know? And I didn’t know it. And she wasn’t attached to living, you see, And she wasn’t.

01:00:55:18 – 01:00:56:22

Kute Blackson

Attached to dying.

01:00:57:12 – 01:00:58:24

Kute Blackson

She was just open.

01:00:58:24 – 01:00:59:16

Kute Blackson

To the.

01:01:01:00 – 01:01:02:04

Kute Blackson

Highest unfolding.

01:01:02:14 – 01:01:03:09

Kute Blackson

Of her soul.

01:01:04:14 – 01:01:05:02

Kute Blackson

Without.

01:01:05:02 – 01:01:06:04

Kute Blackson

Any conditions.

01:01:06:06 – 01:01:09:14

Kute Blackson

She had zero conditions on life.

01:01:09:19 – 01:01:10:05

Kute Blackson

It’s got to.

01:01:10:05 – 01:01:10:15

Kute Blackson

Be this.

01:01:10:15 – 01:01:11:16

Kute Blackson

Way. It’s got to.

01:01:11:16 – 01:01:14:13

Kute Blackson

Be that way. There was even no preference. It was.

01:01:14:13 – 01:01:14:22

Kute Blackson

Just.

01:01:15:10 – 01:01:23:19

Kute Blackson

Whatever is the highest unfolding for my soul. That’s all I want. And I saw that there was such a profound level of surrender.

01:01:24:09 – 01:01:26:04

Kute Blackson

And freedom for her.

01:01:26:13 – 01:01:28:02

Kute Blackson

I should say surrender for her.

01:01:28:11 – 01:01:33:13

Kute Blackson

And that’s when I saw that surrender. Surrender was the passport to true freedom.

01:01:33:13 – 01:01:35:09

Kute Blackson

And that moment.

01:01:36:18 – 01:01:38:10

Kute Blackson

Honestly just changed my life.

01:01:38:10 – 01:01:41:19

Kute Blackson

Seeing her embodied.

01:01:42:02 – 01:01:43:04

Kute Blackson

In that surrender.

01:01:44:00 – 01:01:45:15

Kute Blackson

And how at peace she.

01:01:45:15 – 01:01:46:02

Kute Blackson

Was.

01:01:46:19 – 01:01:47:06

Kute Blackson

It made me.

01:01:47:06 – 01:01:56:13

Kute Blackson

Understand some things, you know? And it was it was it was a life changing, a simple, life changing moment. Yeah. Wow. Yeah.

01:01:56:22 – 01:02:27:06

Nathan Crane

That’s incredible. Yeah. I mean, just incredible, man. I mean, to be to be at that level of peace, knowing that your life is ending and. And. But knowing her. Knowing herself. Right. I’m. I’m not this body like I am. I’m a soul. I’m. I’m going to the next dimension. I got nothing to be of. Like death is probably the number one fear for most people, right?

01:02:27:06 – 01:02:45:23

Nathan Crane

They’re afraid of going to hell. They’re afraid of the nothing. They’re afraid of the unknown. And so, you know, overcoming that fear in your life is like if you can overcome that fear, like there’s nothing that can touch you, man. If you’re like, Hey, I’m not afraid of death, you know, it’s like, what else can what else can happen?

01:02:46:05 – 01:03:10:06

Nathan Crane

You know? Yeah, you can have some pain and some suffering, but even then, pain and suffering, the end result for most in the back of their mind is death. So if that fear is already gone and you’re just accepting that, you know, this is just one stage of my existence, you know, and beyond this body, when I try and transcend transition into the next existence for my soul goes beyond this body.

01:03:10:17 – 01:03:38:00

Nathan Crane

It’s like I know that, you know, I know in my heart that that that’s the next level. I believe it. I know it. The transition from here, whether you call it heaven or, you know, the Oneness or whatever, it’s a beautiful place to be. You know, I’m not afraid of hell or, you know, and there’s certainly a lot of religious people who think, well, if I don’t do what I’m told, I have to do what the Bible tells me, then that I’m going to go to hell.

01:03:38:00 – 01:03:52:20

Nathan Crane

And that’s that’s a fearful place to live in. You know, And and that’s okay. That’s okay. I mean, it keeps people doing trying to live a good life. But if that fear’s always in the back of your mind, I don’t know. You know, I don’t know if that allows you.

01:03:53:09 – 01:03:55:01

Kute Blackson

You know. Yeah.

01:03:55:13 – 01:03:58:23

Kute Blackson

I think you certainly won’t be free. Bright, free, free.

01:03:58:23 – 01:04:02:01

Nathan Crane

Like just how you explain your mother to that. How truly.

01:04:02:10 – 01:04:05:12

Kute Blackson

Truly free you are. Truly free to be who you.

01:04:05:12 – 01:04:08:14

Kute Blackson

Truly, authentically are. Yeah. You know. Yeah.

01:04:08:14 – 01:04:13:24

Nathan Crane

Is that so? Is that what you wrote? You wrote book The Magic of Surrender. Did you write it because of that experience?

01:04:14:04 – 01:04:20:04

Kute Blackson

Yeah, I wrote that The Magic of Surrender was not the book I wanted to write. It was not the book I thought I was going to write.

01:04:20:04 – 01:04:23:08

Kute Blackson

I had other plans. I had I wanted to.

01:04:23:21 – 01:04:28:00

Kute Blackson

I came up with a whole strategy of books I thought would be a bestseller.

01:04:28:05 – 01:04:30:16

Nathan Crane

Tell God your plans and watch them laugh. Right.

01:04:30:22 – 01:04:45:09

Kute Blackson

The books. I thought the publisher would want, books I thought my audience would want. And I had an entire whiteboard one day of brilliant ideas, and none of them felt authentic. None of them felt.

01:04:45:21 – 01:04:47:07

Kute Blackson

True and aligned.

01:04:47:15 – 01:04:49:11

Kute Blackson

The only word that felt really in line.

01:04:49:12 – 01:04:53:21

Kute Blackson

For me was the words surrender. And that’s when I thought, Oh shit, this is this is the energy.

01:04:53:21 – 01:04:56:01

Kute Blackson

This is this is, this is.

01:04:56:21 – 01:04:57:09

Kute Blackson

The book.

01:04:57:20 – 01:05:04:08

Kute Blackson

And so I resisted and I had to surrender to I had to surrender to the book about surrender. That was.

01:05:04:23 – 01:05:05:09

Kute Blackson

Listen.

01:05:05:18 – 01:05:10:02

Kute Blackson

And I saw that this book had a soul of its own, had a consciousness of its own. And this was the book that was seeking.

01:05:10:02 – 01:05:10:16

Kute Blackson

To be written.

01:05:11:01 – 01:05:13:05

Kute Blackson

And I just surrendered to it.

01:05:13:05 – 01:05:15:18

Kute Blackson

And that’s when the magic started happening, you know? And.

01:05:16:02 – 01:05:17:18

Kute Blackson

You know, I think in our culture today.

01:05:17:18 – 01:05:18:15

Kute Blackson

We have this.

01:05:19:16 – 01:05:20:20

Kute Blackson

Idea or this.

01:05:20:20 – 01:05:25:18

Kute Blackson

Misconception that surrender is weak. That’s when the passive.

01:05:26:02 – 01:05:44:11

Kute Blackson

That surrender is giving up. It’s waving the white flag that if you surrender, you will manifest your goals, dreams and desires. If you surrender, you won’t have that thing you want. If you surrender, you’re going to be left behind. You’re going to be taken advantage of. You’re going to be a doormat. And I’m actually saying if you truly understand the real.

01:05:45:00 – 01:05:45:16

Kute Blackson

Power.

01:05:46:01 – 01:05:47:06

Kute Blackson

And the real essence.

01:05:47:06 – 01:05:49:01

Kute Blackson

Of truth, surrender.

01:05:50:10 – 01:06:13:19

Kute Blackson

Maybe you don’t get what you thought you wanted based on your ego’s identity. But what if you got more? What if it was better? What if it was? What if it was beyond what you could currently imagine with your limited mentors, personalities, egos, perception? Because the ego is very condition. And so what I said, what if in truly surrendering you got more and it was better.

01:06:13:19 – 01:06:17:01

Kute Blackson

And when I really look and so I believe that surrender.

01:06:17:01 – 01:06:24:12

Kute Blackson

Is the real secret to real manifestation, that it is the key to the next level of our lives.

01:06:24:17 – 01:06:26:00

Kute Blackson

If you look at the truly great.

01:06:26:00 – 01:06:28:24

Kute Blackson

Ones, Jesus Buddha, Ghandi, Mother.

01:06:28:24 – 01:06:31:15

Kute Blackson

Teresa, Mandela, Martin Luther King.

01:06:31:17 – 01:06:32:11

Kute Blackson

Bruce Lee.

01:06:32:16 – 01:06:47:17

Kute Blackson

Muhammad Ali, Bob Marley, many of these people like they were weak little people that were passive and sent around. But all of these people, I think, got to the point where they got to the point where they surrendered themselves to their souls.

01:06:47:17 – 01:06:48:18

Kute Blackson

Highest intention.

01:06:48:24 – 01:06:50:08

Kute Blackson

They surrendered themselves to.

01:06:50:08 – 01:06:51:12

Kute Blackson

The divine, to life.

01:06:51:18 – 01:06:53:19

Kute Blackson

And that’s when they transcended their.

01:06:53:19 – 01:06:55:17

Kute Blackson

Own human.

01:06:56:02 – 01:07:01:16

Kute Blackson

Limitations. And they tapped into another dimension of potential. And that’s when I think.

01:07:01:16 – 01:07:02:07

Kute Blackson

Lewis.

01:07:02:13 – 01:07:03:06

Kute Blackson

Was able.

01:07:03:06 – 01:07:04:09

Kute Blackson

To use them.

01:07:04:18 – 01:07:27:21

Kute Blackson

Life was able to express through them. Life was able to perform miracles through them because they weren’t in the way. And so I think surrender is surrender is the magic man. Surrender, surrender is the key to unlock the next level. And I think the next level out of our lives requires the next level of us, which requires that we let go and we release.

01:07:28:06 – 01:07:29:04

Kute Blackson

That which is no.

01:07:29:04 – 01:07:42:08

Kute Blackson

Longer in alignment. But as human beings, out of self comfort, self-preservation, fear, we tend to hold on to who we were and what we know to keep ourselves safe, not realizing that we are.

01:07:42:08 – 01:07:47:01

Kute Blackson

Blocking that next level of purpose. We’re blocking the next level of manifestation.

01:07:47:01 – 01:07:50:02

Kute Blackson

And so, yes, surrender is to let go of.

01:07:50:02 – 01:07:54:09

Kute Blackson

Control, or I should say the illusion that we are in control in the first place. Surrender.

01:07:54:09 – 01:07:55:14

Kute Blackson

Wish to let go of trying.

01:07:55:14 – 01:07:55:22

Kute Blackson

To.

01:07:56:12 – 01:08:23:05

Kute Blackson

Force and manipulate lives to fit our limits. That idea of how we think it should be, who we think we should be, so that we can be truly like available. Like my mother was available to the highest impulse of what life is seeking to express. And I think that’s when we allow life to show us. We allow this intelligent energy and consciousness that is life that has been around for billions and billions of billions of.

01:08:23:05 – 01:08:25:20

Kute Blackson

Years with our lives to lead us. And that’s when we.

01:08:25:20 – 01:08:26:22

Kute Blackson

Start following life.

01:08:27:04 – 01:08:28:05

Kute Blackson

Rather than just from.

01:08:28:05 – 01:08:30:07

Kute Blackson

A limited perception imposing onto.

01:08:30:07 – 01:08:32:17

Kute Blackson

Life. We allow life to show us.

01:08:32:17 – 01:08:44:04

Kute Blackson

And so for me, the shift happens, when we stop asking the question, what do I want? What do I want? What do I want? And we start asking the question, What is it that life is seeking.

01:08:44:04 – 01:08:48:02

Kute Blackson

To express through? What is it that life is seeking to manifest through me?

01:08:48:11 – 01:08:49:14

Kute Blackson

What is it that lives?

01:08:49:20 – 01:08:52:07

Kute Blackson

My soul’s the divine, the universe.

01:08:52:07 – 01:08:58:05

Kute Blackson

This instant intelligence, the deepest, highest truth. What is what is what is it that life is seeking to.

01:08:58:05 – 01:08:59:02

Kute Blackson

Express through me?

01:08:59:02 – 01:09:02:14

Kute Blackson

And we allow ourselves to attuned to that, to feel that, to.

01:09:02:14 – 01:09:04:03

Kute Blackson

Sense that and.

01:09:04:10 – 01:09:07:05

Kute Blackson

Align with that, then we can sort of align.

01:09:07:05 – 01:09:09:11

Kute Blackson

Our minds, our speech, our.

01:09:09:20 – 01:09:11:15

Kute Blackson

Resources, our marketing, our.

01:09:11:16 – 01:09:12:20

Kute Blackson

Money, our strategy.

01:09:12:20 – 01:09:14:16

Kute Blackson

Our goal planning in alignment.

01:09:14:16 – 01:09:18:07

Kute Blackson

With what is authentic and true. That’s when I think we’re in the flow.

01:09:19:22 – 01:09:43:14

Nathan Crane

I want to ask you a question about that. Like personally, do you have you found that when your when you’re listening to to your heart, to your intuition, to God and you start to follow that guidance, whatever it is, it was a vision, it was a thought, was an idea. And you’re like, Hey, this is what I need to focus on right now.

01:09:43:14 – 01:10:13:07

Nathan Crane

Right? It might be starting a new business or a free community or, you know, volunteering or going to the gym or whatever it is. Right? Do you have you found that or most of the time, more often than not, that that thing that you start doing actually from the outside looking in might be really weird? Like, yeah, like, seems like it’s like out of like, like, like you’re like on this path right?

01:10:13:07 – 01:10:29:01

Nathan Crane

And then all of a sudden you get this thing over here and you’re like, Oh, that’s what I feel like I should be doing. And actually you start doing it and you get into it. And if you looked at it from the outside, maybe people who knew you or whatever is like, Why is he doing that? That’s like nothing to do with what he’s, you know, focusing on over here or whatever.

01:10:29:06 – 01:10:35:07

Nathan Crane

Have you felt? It’s kind of like a weird offset thing, but if you many times that, yeah, it’s like that’s the right thing you should be doing.

01:10:35:18 – 01:10:37:20

Kute Blackson

So what when, when we are truly.

01:10:37:20 – 01:10:38:13

Kute Blackson

Listening.

01:10:39:06 – 01:10:41:08

Kute Blackson

So many times we’re so busy that we’re not able.

01:10:41:08 – 01:10:44:07

Kute Blackson

To listen. We’re listening to our ego, which is conditioning.

01:10:44:13 – 01:10:49:01

Kute Blackson

So whatever we are planning, creating, strategizing, goal setting from the level of the ego.

01:10:49:01 – 01:10:49:13

Kute Blackson

Mind.

01:10:50:01 – 01:10:56:08

Kute Blackson

Is still based in past experiences. So no matter how great it is, is still arising from the condition that level.

01:10:56:08 – 01:10:57:15

Kute Blackson

Of our being.

01:10:57:22 – 01:11:05:03

Kute Blackson

And so we will tend to recreate the past in the present and in the future, no matter how great it is, is still going to be.

01:11:05:03 – 01:11:05:17

Kute Blackson

Limited.

01:11:06:06 – 01:11:32:19

Kute Blackson

When we are when we receive the inspiration from soul, from source, from the divine, it is arising not from the mind, the ego, the personality or the past. It’s arising from a timeless, infinite dimension of our true that is the source of all knowledge. And that that that intuition, that guidance is not limited to anything of our identity and past.

01:11:33:04 – 01:11:58:20

Kute Blackson

So now we are, you could say, creating in an unlimited direction, an unlimited context. And so as that unconditioned inspiration arises, it’s not limited to who we were, it’s not limited to what we perceive ourselves to be, is not limited by our story. It is arising from infinite. And as that arises, the challenge is many times we look at this and we we talk ourselves out of it.

01:11:59:05 – 01:12:29:06

Kute Blackson

We, with our mind, try to understand it, try to manipulate it, try to control it. And one of the things that stop us is the constant need to understand everything. The constant need to understand everything is the ego’s methodology to try and control. Because if I can understand what this means, even though it arose from the infinite, if I can understand what it means, maybe I can manage risk and I won’t get hurt like I got hurt when I was a kid if I can understand it.

01:12:29:06 – 01:12:38:22

Kute Blackson

And so the need to understand everything is a limitation of the ego. Well intended, but it’s a limitation on life. When we can allow this intuition.

01:12:38:22 – 01:12:40:09

Kute Blackson

To arise.

01:12:40:09 – 01:12:41:16

Kute Blackson

Give up the need to.

01:12:41:16 – 01:12:42:11

Kute Blackson

Understand.

01:12:42:24 – 01:12:44:01

Kute Blackson

And simply.

01:12:44:14 – 01:12:46:10

Kute Blackson

Follow this impulse.

01:12:46:20 – 01:12:47:17

Kute Blackson

We can follow the.

01:12:47:17 – 01:12:49:12

Kute Blackson

Impulse, follow the impulse.

01:12:49:17 – 01:13:03:14

Kute Blackson

Follow the impulse, and it will slowly lead us. It will slowly guide us. It will take us because it has its own intelligence. It will take us in the direction. So that might be like pick up the phone and call.

01:13:03:17 – 01:13:06:17

Kute Blackson

Nathan Well, why?

01:13:06:23 – 01:13:21:05

Kute Blackson

And maybe he won’t want me to call and I haven’t spoken to him. Don’t question. We can pick up the phone and call Nathan Hey. Nathan Checking in and maybe Nathan’s like, you know what?

01:13:21:11 – 01:13:22:16

Nathan Crane

You know, I was just thinking of you.

01:13:22:16 – 01:13:33:23

Kute Blackson

Just thinking of you all. You know what? You start talking and then you realize Nathan’s, you know, is trying to do something that you’re trying to do. And so we have to be willing to embrace.

01:13:33:23 – 01:13:34:17

Kute Blackson

The unknown.

01:13:35:06 – 01:13:42:00

Kute Blackson

Part of us, That degree of freedom we will experience in life is in direct proportion with our ability.

01:13:42:00 – 01:13:48:21

Kute Blackson

To dance and embrace the unknown and allow life to lead us. And that is really a real essence of surrender.

01:13:48:21 – 01:13:51:11

Kute Blackson

And one key quality in that.

01:13:52:02 – 01:13:55:17

Kute Blackson

Process is the ability to be curious.

01:13:55:23 – 01:14:12:12

Kute Blackson

So when you don’t know, rather than fixate, think in a in a small fix point of like, what does this mean? What is this happening? What’s going on as to analyze everything, I should know where I’m going. We can if we can relax, if you’re in a point where you don’t know where the hell, what the hell are you doing?

01:14:13:04 – 01:14:13:22

Kute Blackson

It’s okay.

01:14:13:22 – 01:14:14:22

Kute Blackson

You don’t have to know.

01:14:15:24 – 01:14:19:17

Kute Blackson

No different than right now. You, I. We’ve been breathing.

01:14:20:09 – 01:14:22:09

Kute Blackson

We didn’t know how to.

01:14:22:09 – 01:14:44:24

Kute Blackson

Millions and trillions of cells have been processing inside of us. We weren’t doing anything. We weren’t even understanding what was happening. It was just happening. There was an innate intelligence that knows how to unfold the same way it knows how to. If we cut our finger, it knows how to bring ourselves back into, healing and harmony. And so if we’re willing to just say, okay, I don’t know where this inspiration is.

01:14:44:24 – 01:14:52:18

Kute Blackson

Guiding me and I don’t need to know. But I’m scared. Breathe. And just just relax into this moment right now.

01:14:53:06 – 01:14:54:09

Kute Blackson

And take the next.

01:14:54:09 – 01:14:56:19

Kute Blackson

Action brief.

01:14:57:15 – 01:15:03:09

Kute Blackson

Just move into that. Just kind of relax and just What’s the next action?

01:15:03:16 – 01:15:07:17

Kute Blackson

Pick up the phone and call Nathan Grief. We will.

01:15:08:01 – 01:15:09:05

Kute Blackson

Send the email.

01:15:09:09 – 01:15:10:02

Kute Blackson

To Susie.

01:15:10:16 – 01:15:16:13

Kute Blackson

That’s it. You don’t know where it’s going to go. Grief. See the difference between speak, surrender.

01:15:17:07 – 01:15:18:09

Kute Blackson

And real surrender?

01:15:18:21 – 01:15:25:01

Kute Blackson

Is this in fake surrender? You’re like, Well, I know I kind of need to let this go or I need to do this thing.

01:15:25:11 – 01:15:27:21

Kute Blackson

And if I do it, then.

01:15:27:21 – 01:15:38:04

Kute Blackson

You forget that X, y, z is going to happen. Oh, if I let this person go, then they’ll come back to me. There’s already a negotiation and a conditionality to a surrender. But true surrender is like.

01:15:38:21 – 01:15:41:22

Kute Blackson

I know I need to do this thing. I don’t know why.

01:15:41:22 – 01:16:09:03

Kute Blackson

And I’m not going to predict what might happen. I’m going to remain open so that I don’t project into the future because that projection becomes a limitation, because now you have a pre expectation of what’s going to happen and you’re setting yourself and setting everything up to maybe meet that expectation or less rather than stay fully available. Because when you’re truly open, truly surround a truly available, you take all limitations off of life.

01:16:09:10 – 01:16:11:10

Kute Blackson

And the truth is life is unlimited.

01:16:11:16 – 01:16:17:15

Kute Blackson

And now you will you are open to life’s unfolding. How ever it needs to.

01:16:17:15 – 01:16:20:04

Kute Blackson

Unfold for the fulfillment of your goal.

01:16:20:10 – 01:16:26:21

Kute Blackson

Your dream, and your desire. You see, when you and I, when we receive a vision.

01:16:28:01 – 01:16:31:10

Kute Blackson

A dream, that dream has chosen you.

01:16:32:00 – 01:16:46:02

Kute Blackson

We think we chose it, but it chose us because we were the perfect to fail to fulfill that dream of vision. And if that’s the case, then the dream doesn’t belong to me. It doesn’t belong to you. It belongs to life. It belongs to life. And life has an intelligence. It knows.

01:16:46:03 – 01:16:47:01

Kute Blackson

Exactly.

01:16:47:15 – 01:17:03:15

Kute Blackson

How to fulfill that dream and vision. If we’re willing to get ourselves out of the way, that innate intelligence that knows how to heal the cut in your body. It’s the same intelligence that knows how to bring that vision into manifestation. But we’re constantly getting in our way so we can say.

01:17:04:09 – 01:17:07:17

Kute Blackson

Let me get curious is the key.

01:17:08:01 – 01:17:25:17

Kute Blackson

Let me be curious. Like what is seeking to unfold right now? I don’t know what is seeking to happen right now. I’m not sure. But I’m curious. I’m curious then you’re truly living in the now like the power of now. That’s when you’re really living in the now, when there’s no need to know what’s going to happen. There’s a true curiosity.

01:17:25:23 – 01:17:28:01

Kute Blackson

To what is arising. And that’s.

01:17:28:01 – 01:17:29:07

Kute Blackson

Why why children.

01:17:30:15 – 01:17:33:03

Kute Blackson

Are so alive. They’re so fascinated.

01:17:33:11 – 01:17:35:18

Kute Blackson

They’re not living a museum of the past, in.

01:17:35:18 – 01:17:36:14

Kute Blackson

The present and in the.

01:17:36:14 – 01:17:38:13

Kute Blackson

Future because they don’t already know what’s going to happen.

01:17:38:13 – 01:17:42:10

Kute Blackson

So everything is like joy and wonder. The Bible.

01:17:42:10 – 01:17:42:17

Kute Blackson

Says.

01:17:42:17 – 01:17:48:09
